Band of the week is Fresh Penguins most self-explanatory segment. This installment is focused on British indie piece, House of Lions.

House of Lions are a five-piece band from London who have just recently garnered some success. They have released but five songs so far in their short life yet each song is mature and well-written. They carry a new energetic indie vibe featuring strong melodies, staccato guitars, great atmosphere and tasteful drumming. Following a similar mold to many modern indie front-runners such as Coasts, and Bad Suns they are gaining some fans while still staying unique and true to themselves. They are an extremely talented young band and are worth checking out when given time.

Songs to check out first,

Supernova: The most maturely written song by the band and also the most recent. The song features haunting and powerful melodies, atmospheric guitar, and steady drums. A mellow yet forceful song well beyond their years.

Uncruel: House of Lions biggest song. An upbeat atlernative masterpiece featuring catchy melodies, happy guitar riffs and a strong chorus.
