Coldplay's newest album "A Head Full Of Dreams" came out last December and although it has many great tracks, the album is much less trail-blazing and innovative than past albums. I have been wanting to do an abum review of this one for quite some time but it's a difficult one to explain. So instead of writing a 12 page essay on why it's both great and horrible, here is one word to describe each song on the album.
1. A Head Full of Dreams: Anthemic
2. Birds: Recycled
3. Hymn for the Weekend: Splendid
4. Everglow: Bland
5. Adventure of a Lifetime: Phenomenal
6. Fun (feat. Tove Lo): Unfun
7. Kaleidoscope Interlude
8. Army Of One: Well-written (cheated slightly)
9. Amazing Day: Dull
10. Colour Spectrum: Interlude
11. Up&Up: Pleasant
As you can see, the album has it's highs and lows. It has some amazing moments but for the most part is just mediocre.
The good: Adventure of a Lifetime, Hymn for the Weekend, Army Of One, A Head Full of Dreams
The decent: Birds, Up&Up, Fun (feat. Tove Lo)
The boring: Everglow, Amazing Day, the interludes
